As pet parents we have all struggled with the emotional anguish of kennel placement, knowing our beloved pet would spend days or even weeks in a tiny wire cage and be truly miserable. This mental picture made some pet parents refuse to place their pet in a kennel at all. Other pet parents cannot avoid kennel use and just worry and feel guilty the whole time. Now pet parents of dogs weighing 30 pounds or less have a wonderful, new alternative to this dilemma.

Little Dogs Resort & Salon, Inc. provides an environment where dogs are never confined in wire cages and are free to roam about during the day in a home-like setting, to play with other dogs and our trained staff, either in the living rooms or out in the spacious landscaped and fenced yards. Our meticulously clean facility provides spacious and light-filled living rooms in a Victorian décor with couches, chairs, tables, television and audio systems, art work, books, fresh flowers and other comforts of home. There are plenty of dogs bones, balls, and toys, too. Videotapes such as 101 Dalmations, Lassie, and other dog appropriate programs are shown and music is played in each room. Dogs are taken outside in small groups for at least 20 minutes of toileting, play time, exercise and fresh air a minimum of six times per day. A dog preferring to go outside more or less often can do so.

Dogs are limited in size to 30 pounds or less in order to maintain safety. All areas of Little Dogs Resort are visible through Half-walls of tempered glass between all rooms to assure pet safety. Our building and grounds are pet safe. Only dogs with documentation of current immunizations are allowed on the premises. Our staff is certified in Pet CPR. All indoor toileting accidents are cleaned up immediately with an antibacterial solution and yards are picked up several times a day. Outside chain-link fences are 8 feet high and 6 inches in the ground. Only pet parents can pick up a dog unless Little Dogs Resort staff is given prior notice. During extremes of weather dogs only go outside for brief periods of time. As requested, sweaters and coats brought by the parents can be put on the dog. The building and adjacent areas are under 24 hour monitoring by an alarm company. We have a direct alarm to the fire department. Alarms for heat, air conditioning, carbon monoxide and power failure are also in place.
